Things that go Woolly in the Night!

  1. I was just on Charlotte's plot and saw your comment so thought I'd take a peek. What fun - would have loved to have seen this. Never been to Bristol but it is definitely one of the things on my Bucket List now.

  3. Thanks for popping over Morag. I'm not a Bristolian by birth but have spent the last 20 years in the city which has quite a reputation for its alternative take on art. I would say that it's well worth a visit.

Charlotte - The yarn bombing extravaganza was planned to coincide with the Southbank Arts Trail this past weekend. The work is located on the corner between Luckwell Road and North Street in Bedminster. Unfortunately most of it has now disappeared. The magnificent stripy piece was ripped during the first night, when most of the bollard decorations and the bees were stolen. By this morning my chain of flowers on the bench, the flower, the birds and the ladybirds were also missing. Remarkably the cactus is still intact, along with two of the bike racks and a rather bedraggled spider! It's a shame but it was fun creating them and watching the joy they brought to so many passers by.

  4. Wow this is gorgeous (came across you through Charlotte's plot). How wonderful to have this in my part of the world (well almost, Bath is not so very far away). Shame about the swift destruction, but I suppose part of the beauty of these things is that they come and go...

  6. You made all these yourself, Gai? That must have taken some time. You are clearly both talented and imaginative.

  7. Thanks for popping over Deborah S.

Nice to hear from you again Sooz.

Oh Karin, I wish I could claim the credit for all of them, but it was very much a joint effort. My contribution was the string of flowers woven in and out the slats on the bench.

  8. I so so love it, especially the one with the bees, flowers and ladybirds.

Shame how people destroy/steal the beauty others inject into the environment.

Anyway, thank you sooo much for sharing.
