On the Eleventh & Twelfth Days of Christmas ...

I spent most of my time tidying and cleaning.

Not very interesting I know, but believe me our house needs it.  Besides the weather outside was awful.

So I flung on some old clothes, switched on the radio and got stuck in.  There were regular tea breaks (with Christmas cake!) and at the end of the day I chilled out watching the new Bridge and Sherlock.

I would have taken some before and after shots, but the former would have been way too embarrassing!

  1. I did the same! I must have vacuumed about four times to get the last of the pine needles and tinsel up.

    1. We chose an untreated Norwegian spruce this year and were expecting to have to deal with a mountain of pine needles. However the combination of disposing of it through the front window just behind where it stood, and stripped floorboards made it easier than we feared.

  2. I spent a good deal of the weekend doing that as well, though you wouldn't know it! Happy New Year!

  3. Tell me about it. It'd take me considerably longer than one weekend to put my house in order!

  4. I have been doing the same. A big clean at this time of year is quite therapeutic, I think. We have a fake tree and that still managed to shed needles! Despite loving the excellent first series I haven't caught up with The Bridge yet, but I have been avidly watching Sherlock. I found the most recent episode to be quite odd and my attention was wandering...I hope the next one is better. Happy new year to you. x
